If you like coffee, art, culture, and climate change discussion, an upcoming event is perfectly brewed for you.
At 5 p.m. on Monday, November 1, the Penn State Coffee Club will host “The Effects of Climate Change on Coffee, Art, and Culture.” There, you’ll get to taste different coffee varieties from regions across the globe that have been affected by climate change.
This free and open event will be located in Art Alley on the second level of the HUB. The event will end at 7 p.m. as tastings and conversations come to a close.
The tasting is inspired and aligned with the current exhibition and artwork of Wind Spirits by Tatiana Arocha. Partnered with the coffee tasting, the club will hold climate change and environmental conversations.
The discussion of “the impending disappearance of this commodity” will be led by student Federico Alvarez. The second discussion, revolving around the artwork’s painting, will be held by student Kristen Byrne.
If you have are interested in coffee and the club itself, find out more about it in our most recent feature on the Coffee Club.

Larkin is a third-year majoring in broadcast journalism. The only words that leave her mouth are “yinz” and “dippy eggs.” Luckily, her writing has much more substance than that. As a Steelers and Pirates fan, sports can become a hot debate. Share your thoughts on dogs (specifically Boston Terriers) with her at: [email protected]
Through an open discussion forum on Monday, THON heard community input on its culture, inclusion efforts, and more.
Things didn’t go Penn State’s way Saturday, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t an eventful weekend in Columbus.

The Buckeyes were too much for Penn State to handle Saturday night in Columbus.
Welcome back to Columbus, folks.
