Refuge Coffee Co. Announces Third Café Location What Now Atlanta – What Now Atlanta

Back in 2019, What Now Atlanta covered Refuge Coffee Co.’s first major expansion, from Clarkston to Atlanta’s Daily World Building located at 145 Auburn Ave, so naturally we’re especially excited to share Refuge Coffee is expanding once again.
“Hello Friends! We cannot keep this secret any longer, so on today, International Coffee Day, we are excited to announce that we will be CREATING REFUGE IN MIDTOWN,” shared a post across Refuge Coffee’s social media channels earlier this month. The non-profit will open a shop in The Woodruff Arts Center at 1280 Peachtree St. NE.
Refuge Coffee Co. got its start in 2014, when Founder and CEO Kitti Murray began the organization in Clarkston’s downtown, an area the non-profit notes is home to 60 different languages spoken within one square mile. Refuge Coffee Co. aims to provide employment, mentorship, job training, and a livable income to refugees who have resettled in Georgia. The shop, which operates as both brick-and-mortars and food trucks, aims to “provide a safe place to anchor Clarkston’s refugee community.”
We were unable to reach Murray for comment at the time of publication, but you can follow Refuge Coffee’s social media for updates on the new location, including when exactly it will open for business.
What Now Atlanta is assembling Atlanta's leading organizations in the restaurant, retail and real estate industries to help you take your business to the next level.
As part of the grand opening festivities, ABC Chicken & Waffles will offer one free Nitro Craft Beverage with any Chicken & Waffle order.
In doing their part to 'slow the spread,' owners of these establishments have closed their dining rooms. Check back for around-the-clock updates.
While an exact location is still TBD, the coffee shop's owners look to be operational before the end of 2020.
