Sheree K. Nielsen’s love of coffee began at age seventeen when, on a camping trip, she couldn’t find her usual drink – tea – and was forced to drink coffee. She loved it!
In Coffee Coma, Nielsen celebrates and shares her life with coffee. With poems and photographs that will warm your heart and arouse your appetite, she writes about her travels with her husband to coffeehouses around the country, with her mom and dad over coffee and sweets, fun times with friends, and quiet moments drinking coffee and snuggling with her cats and dogs. She writes about the coffee drinks she enjoys – lattes, cappuccinos, espressos and affogatos – her favorite mugs and cups, the fine art of latte art, and the sweet treats and foods that complement the exhilarating taste of coffee.
While undergoing chemotherapy in 2018 for Waldenstrom’s macroglobulinemia, Nielsen found her sense of taste was impaired for ten days after each treatment. For a lover of coffee, that was rough.
Sheree K. Nielsen believes that every picture tells a story, combining her love of photography and writing with colorful visual descriptions and healing messages found in her poetry, coffee table books, essay collections and children’s books.
Coffee Coma was released August 10 everywhere. Coffee Coma is published by Shanti Arts, Brunswick, Maine.
